Neither imploring
Nor invoking
The celestial beings
As you had sung so long

 
I wish no luck
Divine love;
No heaven, no lust;
Not even bliss eternal
To covet yet.

O! Let me have it,
The music that lurks
So congenial
In the vast expanse
Of the sky sublime
Or that dwells concealed
In the fuming waves
Of the deep blue ocean.

Sing like a lark
Sweet and soothing
Soaring high and high
Free and contented
Sing my love
Darling sing.
