O! Man
O ! Man you applaud yourself perhaps,
For your achievements and progress,
In the march from caves and huts
To castles, sky scrappers and rockets,
from stones, sticks, swords and arrows.
To guns atom bombs and missiles
And seek heights higher and higher
To fetch your heaven down to Earth,
Subdue the heavenly bodies
And hoist your flag of victory
On them and rewrite the epics of old,
By defeating the gods of your own making
With your acquired knowledge of sciences.
From the marvellous knowledge
You acquired of mind and this universe
Your strength and powers, as wise
Industrious and judicious, as you are,
Developed faculties of mind, head and heart
And learned to fly in space
As nimble as celestial beings
With your souls ascended
By spiritual Occult science
Now in mortal body, aided
By sciences material you reached.
Newtons, Einsteins and Amstrongs,
Exponents of the laws of Nature
Of Substance, Space and of cause and effect
Of objects of Earth or heavenly bodies
And how and when and why
They cause to act and react.
Yet to know yourself you fail
Though none is high or low
For happiness you seek
More material, name and fame.
If you came from Nowhere
Nowhere do you go
Though transient the mortal body
Know, the Self is Eternity itself
